Cookie policy
This page lists everything Press X to Doubt stores in your browser, and why. Strictly necessary storage works without consent (it's what sign-in and abuse protection need to function). Everything else is off by default and only set if you opt in via the cookie banner. Withdraw or change your choice anytime: (also in the footer of every page).
Strictly necessary (no consent required)
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
better-auth.session_token (+ session-data cookie) | Keeps you signed in after social login. Only set when you sign in. | 7 days (short-lived cached copy: 5 minutes) |
pxd_human | Records that you passed the Cloudflare Turnstile human check at sign-in. | 10 minutes |
CookieConsent (set by Cookiebot, our consent platform) | Remembers your cookie choices so we don't ask again. | 1 year |
Cloudflare Turnstile cookies (e.g. __cf_bm, set by challenges.cloudflare.com) | Bot detection during the human check. | About 30 minutes |
Optional — only with your consent
If you decline (or choose “Necessary only”), none of these are set: analytics fall back to cookieless, aggregate pings (Google Consent Mode) and ads are served non-personalized. Details on Google's cookies: policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.
What we deliberately don't use
- Our always-on traffic measurement is Cloudflare Web Analytics— it is cookieless and sets no identifier at all, which is why it isn't in the tables above.
- No cross-site trackers of our own, no fingerprinting, no social-media pixels.
